Mon Repos turtle season
Mon Repos, near Bargara, is one of the most significant loggerhead turtle rookeries in the South Pacific. Turtle viewing runs roughly November to March, is a night-time activity, and is managed under a booking system. It is usually a dedicated evening charter rather than an add-on.
Getting there
Roughly 110 km and about an hour and twenty minutes from Hervey Bay via Childers. Long enough that comfort matters, short enough for an easy day return.

About an hour and twenty minutes each way from Hervey Bay, via Childers on the Bruce Highway.
